Can you confirm if there are genetic links with Mast Cell Tumours, and if so, which breeds are genetically predisposed to this type of tumour?

I have been told;
Quote:
Mast Cell Tumours are caused by the mutation of a gene called a c-kit oncogene, which signals the tumours to start multiplying. Oncologists aren't sure exactly what causes the gene to mutate in the first place, but they believe it is due to a combination of things such as over-oxidation, over-intoxication, chronic infection and a weakening of the immune system.

There are a couple of us who would be interested in expanding our knowledge in this area.
